Northern State Hospital, Sedro Woolley -- April 2011

Met up with an old friend from high school today to take photos of Miss Jen at Northern State Hospital in Sedro Woolley. I haven't seen Ashley (the friend) since high school graduation! It was awesome. And the Northern State Hospital was awesome. And some of the photos I took were awesome. Woo! Here are some of my favorites:

Smirky face.

Total cowgirl pose.

It was a fun day! Now, if the Canucks could seal the deal in second overtime against the Preds...

Mt. Vernon Street Fair -- April 2011

Went to the Mt. Vernon Street Fair today with Jen & Brit.  Actually, we went to go see a photography show/exhibit called "Art in the Alley" held at the Front Gallery in downtown.  Jen and I heard about it from the photographers we met the last time we were down in Mt. Vernon, doing our little photoshoot.  Just so happened that the Street Fair was happening at the same time!  Of course I brought my camera, and I even learned a new factoid about it from a photographer we met at the gallery.  Awesomeness.  Here's some of my favorites:
Surfer Jen.

I love this blue wall.
So much red!

I'm quite excited about the fact that I'm going to be doing some friends of mine's engagement photos come May.  And I'm going on a photoshoot with an old friend from high school in a couple of weeks!  It's going to be fun.

Photoshoot with Jen -- Mt. Vernon, April 2011

Jen asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday a couple of weeks ago, but at the time I couldn't think of anything.  Then, a couple of days ago, I texted her and said "actually, I want to do a photoshoot for my birthday."  Jen being Jen, she was totally down for it.  That's Jen for you: my little model.  So, today - the day before my birthday - we went out for a few hours around Bellingham and Mt. Vernon and I took nearly 300 photos of her.  Here's some of my favorites:

Jen's becoming a master at pretending to be candid.

Red doors make for fun photos.
Red, white, and blue.
Last photo of the day. Not too bad.
Them are some shmexy shoes.
It was a fun shoot, and I was quite excited by the photos.  Maybe one of these days I'll get paid to have this much fun taking photos.

Roadtrip to Forks -- March 2011

I didn't have a real plan for spring break, so when Mary got a job I was able to convince her that the appropriate form of celebration would be a roadtrip.  Thus, we packed up my car and headed off to the Olympic Peninsula to visit Forks and La Push (why, yes, as in Twilight, if you thought that).  After an adventurous 24 or so hours, sleeping in the back of my car, and a ridiculous pizza, we came back and I had about 400 or more pictures.  'Twas fun.  Here's some of my favorites:

Ferry water trail.
Reminded me of Fern Gully.
First Beach, La Push. SO BEAUTIFUL!
I told Mary to look badass. The resulting photo made her laugh, which looked much better.
Man, I love this photo.
I'm going to have to go back there for a longer period of time (and not camp out in my car!) to take more photos.  It's absolutely gorgeous over there.

Mt. Baker at Sunrise -- October 2010

Back in October, Brit and I went on a little adventure up the Mt. Baker highway early in the morning so we could catch the sunrise on the mountain.  Several hundred photos later, here are some of my favorites:

Brit looking gorgeous.

Sunrise at Artists Point

I can't wait to blow this up to poster size.
This is why I love photography - when I can capture through the lens what I see in front of me.
